On Sunday we headed up to Glasgow, one of my very favourite places to spend a few days.
We were headed to the Ovo Hydro to see Vampire Weekend, yes we could have gone to Manchester instead, but then we would have missed the chance to see Teenage Fanclub as support. It was well worth the journey. This is the view from just outside our hotel (the Hydro is the round silver building).
The day we arrived we took a walk from the hotel into a very festive city centre for some food and window shopping
Down this unassuming lane is a place for to relax and refuel
I kept it simple with a buffalo burger followed by black forest tiramisu, The Chap went for haggis bon bons (deep fried haggis) with beautiful creamy mash followed by polenta cake. Amazing.
The following morning we spent a few hours in the West End.
A wander through Kelvingrove Park, through the University to Byers Road to have a poke around the charity shops. I spotted a couple of books, The Chap bought them for me as an early birthday present.
A beautiful time in a very cool city.
