Wardrobe Declutter #842

Last summer two photographs were taken of me at the charity shop where I volunteered, in both pictures I was wearing dresses that drew many compliments and were objectively pretty, but when I saw those pictures it just wasn't me.

So I went home, emptied my wardrobe and started again pretty much from scratch from head to toe. I stashed a few things away in my out of season drawer* and today was the day to say goodbye.

Blue shirt, wore it mainly at the charity shop, but I won't wear it now. Still in surprisingly good condition considering it was from the charity shop and I've had it for years.

Cord pinafore, saw myself in this wearing tights, felt like a frump, has to go.

I love this dress, it's so cute and it really suits me, but I don't really wear dresses now, especially not short ones. Goodbye sweet friend.

I only ever wore this as an underdress, but as I don't wear short dresses, and have shorts for when I wear a long dress, this can go.

These items have all had a ton of wear, but they are from a time I don't really recognise now.

  1. When I left my charity shop job, I got rid of most of the things I wore to work. I've gradually got rid of other things since. I have no regrets. It's good to reinvent yourself every once in a while.

Each to their own goes without saying.
