Does It Go In The Air Fryer?

I'm having motivational issues, especially in the kitchen. No, not especially in the kitchen, but a bit. So I'm trying to help myself by not forcing myself to cook when I can't be bothered. The ziplock freezer bag has become a must-have, but runs the risk of becoming a monster - how much roast veg can one girl keep in a three drawer freezer? Let me tell you, a lot.

Here's a few things I've made, or at least heated up recently.

Here I am, using up the world's oldest panko, who knows from when it originates. Panko coated tofu with noodles.

Slightly younger sibling of the panko, some dumplings (Aunt Bessie's) with a nice chestnut stew. Fascinating fact, I'd never had dumplings before.

More tofu, this time grated, which was new for me (saw it on YouTube), highly recommend. There are some days I don't eat broccoli, contrary to what these pictures may suggest.

See, sometimes I have spinach. I'm working on making a really nice chilli, this was not it.

Then a couple of days of things I didn't make myself

Pizza, this is the Crosta & Mollica Vegana. No cheese! The white blobs are a chickpea and rosemary sauce, not as horrible as it sounds, in fact it was delicious and I've already bought more.

Finally, last Sunday we visited the brand new cinema in Blackpool to see Oppenheimer in/on IMAX. I went in without water or snacks so after more than 3 hours I was ready to eat. So we headed up to Fleetwood to visit their premier/ only vegan establishment Seitan Hustle. Worth the wander up to Fleetwood for this, and the view from the prom.

The owner makes all his own seitan and it's delicious. I don't know how it compares to the meat-based version, but this is delicious, with zingy red cabbage, garlic sauce and a pile of salad loaded onto a puffy flatbread. Would I eat it after a night on the town? 100%

  1. Stew and dumplings is one of my all time favourite meals from childhood. The seitan looks good. I've had it deep fried like fried chicken and it was very tasty.

    1. The seitan was so good, I can imagine it makes decent chicken style dishes too, I tend to go for the puffy tofu, so this was a pleasant change.

Each to their own goes without saying.
