Wednesday

This year I've been making an effort to say yes to more of the good things, things that I'd normally talk myself out of doing, or tell myself I couldn't be bothered. It could be anything from meeting someone from the charity shop for coffee (the shop is still closed), lifting dumbbells to attending a live event. I draw the line at going for a walk though, just so boring.

It's one of those things, the more I do it the easier it is to not only do it again, but to look forward to it - not so much the resistance training, but the other things.

We were in Lincoln a couple of weeks ago, and walking past the theatre we saw posters for a Murder She Wrote solve-along show that night. I know what the show entails but can't recall ever having watched it, but thought I probably knew enough to enjoy it. And enjoy it we did. Not the kind of thing I would normally book to see, but it was a really fun night out, and I now know that some people really, really love Jessica Fletcher as there were more than a couple of F-Angelas dressed as the good lady herself.

Last night we headed to another show we might not always choose, The Woman In Black at the Grand Theatre Blackpool. Wow! Yes, I jumped right out my skin a couple of times, but I was not the only one.

What an amazing production, just two speaking actors to tell the whole tale, absolutely brilliant, I can't tell you how much we both enjoyed it. So happy to have said yes, when I would usually say no.

Other than a couple of trips to the cinema there's nothing else planned for the next little while, maybe we'll try a panto..?

  1. Oh I remember seeing The Woman in Black a few year ago....yes, jump out of your skin! We tried an Escape Room over the summer - very good fun. I must admit I haven't tried 'New' things for a long time apart from that....but there's no crime in being yourself. It would be nice if we lived closer to each other as I do like a charity shop mooch. Ah well! Keep your chin up xx

Each to their own goes without saying.
