Monday

Last Wednesday was one of those days where I finally had the words to describe the feelings, thanks to The Chap. We were chatting about something that had happened during the day, something and nothing, not a significant thing, but something that was indicative of a relationship I have.

The Chap made the comment that this person was the type who would only make someone else look good because it made them look better, and he is absolutely right. Then, in the way that happens, I saw a story or a reel or whatever that just said niceness isn't the same as kindness, and that summed it up. here's a link to a Huffington Post article

It really boiled down to whether actions and words match. It's pretty easy to be nice, to be pleasant, but if it doesn't tally with what is said away from that person or in other behaviours then it's just a performance. Why is it that whenever I write something down it sounds like the most obvious thing in the world, but at the time it's a lightbulb?

  1. No one would describe me as nice as I rarely am, but I try very hard to always be kind.

Each to their own goes without saying.
