Monday

Last week a former charity shop person died. Someone I knew pretty well, we worked together for a fair few years and we had fun together.

I was really upset when I found out - the message arrived when I was at the shop and I was consoled by a couple of colleagues. The next time I was at the shop it became apparent that everyone knew "some old volunteer" had died and that it was almost amusing that I'd been so upset.

There's no humanity there, just gossip. Funny old world.

Do you like working there? That doesn’t sound a nice environment really. I’m so sorry about your colleague.

    1. Thank you. It is an amazingly toxic environment for some reason, it reminds me to not take it too seriously. I enjoy the work so I just get on with that.

    1. It was a shock, I think they are only the second colleague to die since I've been there, which is pretty impressive considering I'm one of the youngest at 48.

  3. People can be very unkind and lacking in understanding at times. Are you OK? xx

    1. I'm fine, I think I was just shocked at the time. The attitude of some people has been a real eye opener.

  4. I'm sorry to read about you losing a colleague: it is so sad. And how horrible for them to be swept aside like that. Humanity can be so lacking and it is awful.
Just know you have chums through your blog who understand. Xx
