Of course I have too much stuff, and some has to go, so over the past month or so I've been focused on using things up, some examples are more dull than others.
In the more fun department is the start of a new cushion, I've only done the nice bit, I haven't started the construction phase.
The Flying Geese design is adapted from Beautiful Cross Stitch from Classic Quilt Designs by Brenda Day. This successfully used up a number of bits and bobs of thread I had left from other projects, or were part of a huge box I inherited.
On the less fun side some gunky old body lotion and a bottle of handwash.
I've had a period of buying all manner of toiletries due to, quite frankly, horrible skin and hair. Funnily enough it's the water, exercise and vegetables that have helped more, who knew?
Your cushion cover looks beautiful. I look forward to seeing it made up It will look great. Beauty products are a nightmare, I find that no sooner do I find one that suits my skin, it seems to be discontinued and I have to then buy it on eBay or wherever I can, until I can no longer get hold of it. I like to stick to the same products if they work, but sometimes I'm forced to look for something new which can take ages to find.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to opt to do the same. I cleared out about 10 jars from the fridge and now I am trying to empty and use up other things. I used up two tiny jars of strawberry jam this morning and I am working on the very old nut butters next as well as trying to use up products so I can just clear out. I also found a jelly block which had a best before date of 2020 so I made that up this morning. Unlike the one that had a date of 2014 which was found lurking in a cupboard, this one still worked!
ReplyDeleteThe cross-stitch looks great so far!
