I volunteer at a charity shop, we recently moved to the main street, there are pros and cons. The main pro today was that I could work in the cellar and hide from a very pleasant, very generous fellow volunteer who is just not my cup of tea.
There's a lot to be said about working in a no-people zone. I remember fondly working night shifts in a care home where doors and windows were secured at 8pm, and unless the Fire Exit had been needed, we were locked away from the world for 12 hours.
