Every Day Is Like Sunday

As I'm going to be spending lots of time indoors, wondering what day it is for the next five days I thought I'd get out for a trudge over wet sand this morning.

It was gorgeous. The sea was really far out, but roaring loudly

and it's still beautifully misty

but with lovely light

The town "In Bloom" people will be collecting Christmas trees again at the start of the year to help build up the dunes. The trees planted this year are doing their job and grass is starting to grow.

The pier was closed, but the cafe was open, with plenty of happy dog walkers inside!

It would have been a healthy start to the day were it not for the mince pie I treated myself to on the way home!

  1. What a great start to your day. A mince pie should be an obligatory breakfast at this time of year. Guess what song is now going through my head? X

  3. We had planned a walk today, but rain stopped play we didn't walk the beach as planned just dashed to the shops. I have decided I am not going to weigh myself until after Christmas...

  4. Sadly we won't be there this year as we are saving hard for our motorhome. Just as well really as I have a stinker of a cold and a cough that's driving me wild!! Catriona

  5. What an innovative use for the old Christmas trees. They collect them and shred them in my very inland part of West Sussex. Hope you have a good break Arilx

    1. They seem to be doing a really good job. It's a very popular scheme, I seem to remember the volunteers having to do extra collections last time.

  6. You are so lucky to live all year round by the coast - there is nothing better than a walk on the seashore or pier then a hot mug of chocolate in a cafe.
    Have a happy Christmas.

    1. It is nice to have the space so nearby, it's surprising how many residents rarely visit the beach though.

  7. It looks lovely - I love beach walks, but we never go in winter!
