40

Dan is 40 next year, and much as I would love to treat him to all manner of things I don't have the funds, so I am keeping an eye out at the charity shop plus I'm making a few token gifts, one of which I'm plating with today.

I can't draw. At all. But I really wanted to attempt a fabric collage picture of the house, we keep seeing them about the place, luckily I do have a picture of our style of house in a book, I also have baking paper, so I could trace it!

This is the very basic shape, with no additional stitching, we'll see how it goes!

  1. I think it's a lovely idea and I really like the fabrics you've chosen.
Have you ever done a stadium tour? I treated my other half one year (not Turf Moor but I won't mention the name of HIS club!) and he really enjoyed it. X

    1. Thanks, I just have a poke around in the scrap bag and hoped for the best.

We haven't done a stadium tour, but I think Dan may have done when he went to a work thing a few years ago, great idea.

  2. Super idea-Inlove to receive gifts that are made with love. I've done our house which is a wee bungalow but I just stitched the outline. Well done in managing to make it 3-d with fabric. Catriona

  3. I think that your fabric collage picture is going to be a hit. I can just imagine all the other stitching you will be adding to set the whole off.

    God bless.

  4. Have you thought about doing a fabric transfer of a photo of the house. I've seen it on some quilts in books and exhibitions and I bought some transfer paper on eBay meaning to do it myself sometime with some family photographs. It's great for a storytelling quilt for a special occasion.

    1. I've seen quilts like that, and the transfer idea is a really good one, but I don't have a printer.
