I'm Not Complaining Yet

I know I will, but for the time being I am very happy to be making Dan's quilt.

Last week I got a very emotional message from Em who was delighted with her birthday present, and even though I do say so myself, it looks great in her house. Dan's bed quilt has been in planning since December, but yesterday something poked me to get on with it. I dug out the sewing machine again and actually quite enjoyed spending the day sorting out the top.

Using the tea towel made it a little bit tricky as the fabric wanders around a lot, but it will be fine, wonky and wonderful.

  1. I bet it feel wonderful to make a gift and get such a heart felt thank you. Having none of those skills, I always appreciate the work of others.

    1. Exactly, it's a practical quilt. so as long as it's the right size and keeps him warm that's all that matters.

  3. I've seen entire quilt tops made from tea towels!

I think we enjoy our crafts more when we don't have a deadline

    1. That's certainly true, no deadline means being able to step away from a project if necessary!

    1. Thank you. He likes it, and is just as he wanted the top to look so that's great. I got to choose the back and the binding so I have had a little bit of input.

  5. I am so glad you finished that quilt for your friend as I remember it was touch and go at the time. The colours of Dan's quilt are really good together and wonky is good as it will look homemade and not shop bought machine made.

    1. Thank you. I really didn't enjoy being up to such a deadline but I am so happy that it has been so well received.

I love wonky quilts, I'm not a lover of perfection in general and it's going to be crumpled and squished when it's in use so why worry?
