d + h = p

Dingy house plus holiday weekend equals painting.

The house doesn't look just tired, it looks exhausted, I'm starting with the entrance porch, the only window is in the door, which is north facing and is beneath the overhang of the garage. It is dark, dingy and appears to be home to at least 13% of the spider population of England.

Time to crank up the music!

    1. Thank you, I spent a nice afternoon just listening to podcasts and giving things a little primp at my own pace.

  2. We are just having a few days break (just finished the first room) until starting the next room - I am exhausted watching my OH do all that painting! Actually I am out at work earning my keep while he paints but am looking forward now to being able to refurnish and organise a new wardrobe and drawers now it is my days off. Having a good clear out and being as ruthless as I can - trying not to take things back out of the charity bag.
    Happy painting.

    1. Sounds like you're doing a thorough job, it is pretty tiring and I am looking forward to the rooms being finished more than I am looking forward to doing some of them! It will be worth it though. Enjoy your break from it.

    1. Thanks, things won't look much different as things are going to be the same colour, but everything will be fresher which is what's needed.

  4. Have fun! One of my friends always starts a major cleanup at her front door and it really is a brilliant way to begin.

    1. Thanks! What a great idea to start at the front door, it's a fantastic way to make sure nothing is missed. It's so easy to ignore certain areas isn't it.

  5. Best of luck. Once you do one 'room' the next room calls.

    1. Thanks Mum, everywhere needs a bit of TLC. I don't think I'll have the floor sander out though!

  6. Have fun painting. It is the one decorating job I let Harvey handle alone as I have a habit of stepping in the paint tray.

I have the job of all the touch ups once the job is finished.

    God bless.

  8. I'm feeling very tired of our 'really-needs-a-paint' bungalow but our housemove seems like it will never happen!

    1. I can imagine how frustrating it is for you, but it will happen eventually!
