Zing!

I've said it many times, I love the colour orange, so this morning I snapped the orange bits and bobs around the place.

Cushions and blankets

Quilts

Lamps (the first one has silver glitter and belonged to my Grandma)

Trinkets

Pots

Useful things (the clock needs a new battery)

and Shirley Craven!
left Phoenix (1961), right Kaplan (1961)

I wonder what colour I'll wear today?

  1. S'funny that on my list of least favourite is orange, however I have it in my home, I studied where and how it was incorporated and it seems predominantly a secondary compliment colour rather than stand along. Now, the colour which tops my all time rubbish colours is pink and lo and behold. ... I have that in my home too! My actual 'fav-colour-in-the-world' is blue, not that you'd notice on seeing my decor 😊

    1. That made me laugh because I don't like blue at all, but what colour is our spare bedroom? You guessed it!

  2. I love the Autumnal shades of orange and it's growing on me as a colour. Those 1960s orange TVs are amazing!

  3. I love all the hot colours but have very little orange except in my quilts and cushions.

  4. My 3 year old daughter is obsessed with orange, I made her a chocololate orange cake decorated to look like an orange for her birthday. Everything has to be orange.

I love bright orange as an accent, with bright pink and purple too. My favourite colour is emerald green - and I've realised I don't have any in my house or wardrobe, which has given me pause for thought.

    1. She has excellent taste! The cake sounds amazing.

I think it is interesting how little we use the colours we really love sometimes. I don't think I had any orange at all in our old house, for example.

  5. I think it is great that people have affinity for different colors. I'd like more color pops, but I am a neutral/gray/beige kind of person, but I get invigorated being at friends and family that are more bold than me. then I retreat back to my overly calm, some might say, dull, abode.

    1. I think it's interesting to hear how people feel about colour and how that is reflected in their home and clothing.

We have lots of white and grey in the house so you'd hopefully feel comfortable here! As long as you think it's a calm retreat rather than a dull place then that is all that matters, I think those shades can be very soothing.

  6. I love all the snippets of orange in your home! The textiles are fabulous ans so's the clock in need of a battery.
I've always loved orange, our campervan's orange and we've got another being restored that's also been resprayed orange. I'm always snaffling vintage & retro homewares in chazzas to fill them with. xxx

    1. Thanks! I have the battery for the clock, I just need to dig out the screwdriver to open the back now.

An orange campervan is always a good thing.

    1. Yay! I don't think we planned to have orange, we just kind of fell into it without too much discussion.

  8. Orange is not my favorite of colours, however I do have some orange pillows in the living room, and have been known to plant orange Gerbera daisies. My favorite of all colours is....black, but other then as an accent not going to happen in my house according to Harvey.

    God bless.

    1. Gerbera daisies are beautiful!

I quite like black in decoration, we don't have much in the house, we have a lot of grey though. I wear black and white virtually every day, and chevrons, I can't get away from them!

  9. Love this post! I am a fan of orange too, especially for home decor and in public buildings, but I tend to accent with red, myself.

  10. It is bright and sunny, but I have realised that I don't actually have any in my house or wardrobe. May have to rectify that! Xxx

    1. We just found the Donkey Kong at the bottom of a box of ornaments so thought we'd have it out on display - why not?
