This week is topsy-turvy, a scorcher yesterday, yet today here I am at 8.45 with the lamp on, watching the rain with no sun in sight.
On Tuesday we decided to have a final day out at RHS Harlow Carr, a much discussed location. So we set off in the morning, arrived safely and started to look around, then Dan went white as a sheet and had to go for a lie down in the car. It didn't help. The drive back was horrendous, I can't drive and poor Dan felt so ill. He's still in a bad way with no end in sight. As soon as the GP heard he has colitis she told him to call his specialist, we should hear from them tomorrow.
I took the time yesterday to catch up on some laundry, do a spot of cleaning (but not too much) and prepare some veg before it goes off. Dan can't eat at the minute so I'm not cooking. I've been working my way through a big pasta bake we made on Monday, thankfully it's gone now! Some things were chopped and open frozen, some roasted and frozen and some turned into soup. I also nipped into the town on a dash for vimto, a bit of sugary cordial seems to be the only thing that helps Dan at the minute so it's a small price to pay for a happier lad.
In the short time we were at Harlow Carr we really liked the cyclamen in the woodland area, and we'd added them to our wants list. Sue In Suffolk mentioned yesterday she'd bought some autumn plants from Aldi, so I took the opportunity to head off there to buy some for myself to use in the pallet planters. I didn't get chance to plant them last night, and after a windy night they aren't looking their best!
Duvet day for both of us today I think.
