I Made Something

The big bedspread is finally finished! I decided against adding wadding as it's not really a functional thing, just a throw over for the spare bed. Plus, it made it far easier to handle, for anyone who doesn't know I hand sew my things. I have two sewing machines but I rarely use them, and never for quilts.

There's not much else to say so here are some pictures. First of all the back, I went for a denim-look binding and I love it.

And the front, one way

then turned the other way

Little bits of detail

So there you have it. I know there's a pin in there, I just need to find it!

  3. Really lovely, it must have taken an age to make by hand. I keep an EPP project for the times that I want to hand sew and I always finish binding by hand. Mostly my hand work is crochet and knitting though.

    1. Thank you. I think I started it in 2014, but I have finished another quilt and a few other things in between times. It's nice to have a project to do by hand isn't it.

    1. Thank you. This is in our spare bedroom, so I thought it would be nice to have a seaside feel when people come to stay.

  14. The quilt is absolutely gorgeous. Loving the colour and so neat.
My mother-in-law also does quilting and has done so many (will have to do a show and tell one day) She also stitches by hand including the quilt stitching that goes through all the layers. She does it all whilst watching TV.

    1. Thank you. I'm not known for being neat but I just love the tiny stitches.

I always like to have some stitching when watching tv too, although there were a couple of moments during the football where things went a little wonky!
