Non-Stop Shop

Jo and Marlene, I will be posting your fabric tomorrow, Angela, if you read this I still have your Noah's Ark should you wish to forward an address to me.

After discovering my fondness for orange clothing the other day, guess what I spotted in the charity shop yesterday? That is correct, for the sum of £1.99 I picked up another orangey top. This one is from Great Plains, which made me think £1.99 was a bit on the inexpensive side but what do I know?

The shopping didn't stop there. We went to Freeport to stock up on nuts and seeds and while we were there I decided to nip into The Works. I've started have smoothies for breakfast and we thought we might be able to find a book with some good recipes.

We did indeed find one and I was over the moon to find the latest Aine Carlin book in there too for £5! Along with recipes for food this also has a section on homemade beauty products too, fantastic! After a quick flick through the recipes in this book look right up our street so the menu plan may be getting a bit of a jiggle.

The purse is away for a while now.

  2. Lovely top and great book finds too. I do love a nice smoothie for breakfast; they're yummy and virtuous. I couldn't go back to toast and cereal now; they make me feel sluggish by comparison. Looking forward to seeing some of your new recipes. xx

I know what you mean about the feeling of sluggishness, I do feel far lighter after a smoothie. I think we may try something new this weekend as we have plenty in and we're not going anywhere.

    1. Thanks, I'm pleased with them. I don't eat a lot of fruit so I find them a great way to take on some goodness. You can tweak them exactly to your taste so I'm sure there's a smoothie out there for everyone.

  7. £1.99 seems a good price for a new top and the colours are lovely. We've not had a smoothie for a while. They were Mark's jobs but he seems to have gone off making them. We only had basic banana, strawberries, mixed fruit ones but they were delicious. MMC has just been talking about making falafel and as well as wanting that I now want a smoothie. And we've just eaten! xx

    1. No it's fine, just pay it forward when you next get an opportunity.

I think we're going to try a recipe or two this weekend so I'll let you know the verdict, although don't let my photographs put you off, I'll never make a career in food styling!

    1. Thanks, I know I don't need a recipe but sometimes one helps me to try new things. I've had a few problems with food in the past so I try to introduce new foods and new combinations, a recipe makes me feel a bit more brave!
