Book One

The book I've decided to read first is one I've had for quite a few years. I have looked at it many times but never read it cover to cover. We saw a Shirley Craven and Hull Traders exhibition at the Harris in Preston in 2011 and we just astounded by it.

That year Dan bought me a piece of Phoenix fabric (1961) as you can see, it really cuts through the gloom on a December morning!

  1. The book looks interesting. Is there a connection with Hull? I like the fabric Dan bought you. Looks great on the frame.

    1. There is a connection with the city, but it's not where the company got the name. The company founder was Tristram Hull and was named after him. Shirley Craven was employed by them later and she is from Hull.

  2. That fabric stretched on the frame looks wonderful against your grey walls.

    God bless.

    1. Thank you. I love it, and find it very odd that the piece of fabric is older than my house yet still looks so vibrant.
