The Cost Of Going Out

We went out on Saturday afternoon for drinks with one of our friends. We spent £100. Good grief.

  1. I find that happens sometimes...

Me and OH have to have a word with ourselves before we go out because we can get sucked into a trap. Our flash points are:

"It's not a proper cinema trip unless we get ice cream. Go on... I'll have a Ben and Jerry's 3-scoop hot fudge core Sunday with extra cream and polar bears."
"Lovely bumping into you. No, let me get you a drink, I insist! No, that's fine, double rum and coke it is."
"I can't go shopping without taking a lunch break. No, I don't want a sandwich, I want a proper meal!"
"Where are you going on to after here? Well that sounds fun... and our mutual friend's in the show, is he? Well we should go support, shame we didn't know before... oh tickets are still available are they? How much?"
"No I don't want to stay for another round. I can't I have to cook dinner! Takeaway instead? You tempting swine, you! Go on, then!"

The more people you're with, the more you encourage each other!

    1. *hic* I'm happy to report that train fares, food and other bits and bobs were included in the cost, I didn't wake up in the gutter!

    1. I know. That's more than my grocery budget for the month. Believe me, we are hanging our heads in shame.

  4. I'm always staggered by how much we spend when we just 'go out for a drink' too. I'm in London and even ordinary pub prices are expensive.

Anyway I hope it was worth it!

    1. Dan met up with a friend when he was working in London last week. The friend took him to a hipster bar where two drinks cost £10.50. Yikes!
